Filomena Lofranco is the visionary behind LDV & CO., bringing more than 25 years of executive leadership in people, finance, and operations to her passion for Italian culture, hospitality, design, and travel.
Her connection to Italy began long before LDV & CO. was created. In the mid-1970s, as a young girl arriving in Milan for a family wedding, hand in hand with her father, she experienced Italy for the very first time. The moment the airplane doors opened, she was captivated by the richness of the country — the elegance, culture, fashion, food, and unmistakable rhythm of Italian life.
It was also during that journey that she experienced her first introduction to the ritual and refinement of travel itself. Dressed in a matching travel set complete with classic knee-high Italian socks, the experience reflected an era when travel was approached with intention, pride, and sophistication. Long before luxury travel became a modern concept, she understood that how you travelled was part of the experience itself. It was a feeling that remained with her long after returning home and would later shape the philosophy behind LDV & CO.
As a teenager in Toronto, Filomena began organizing local tours and curating personalized itineraries for visiting Italians exploring the city and Niagara region — an early spark that ignited a lifelong passion for creating meaningful travel experiences rooted in connection and hospitality. Following a successful corporate career, she returned to what had always inspired her most: Italy.
Today, Filomena curates bespoke Italy travel experiences while personally leading intimate small-group journeys throughout the country, offering travellers a more authentic and immersive way to experience Italy through slow living, cultural connection, and the timeless elegance of La Dolce Vita.
Beyond travel, she is deeply inspired by Italian design, exceptional hospitality, Tuscan wines, and cultivating meaningful relationships that lead to unforgettable experiences both abroad and within the community.
