Why We Started LDV & CO.: A Story That Began in Italy

Sometimes a single journey can shape an entire lifetime.

My story with Italy began in 1977, during my first visit to a country that would leave a lasting impression on me. As a young girl, I was captivated by everything around me—the history, the culture, the food, the architecture, and most importantly, the people. There was a sense of connection and community that felt different. Life seemed to move at a pace that allowed people to gather, share stories, celebrate traditions, and appreciate the moments that matter most.

While my professional journey eventually led me into leadership, business, and consulting, Italy never truly left me. Over the years, I returned many times, exploring new regions, reconnecting with family and friends, and deepening my appreciation for the traditions, experiences, and values that make Italy so special.

What I discovered was that the most memorable experiences were rarely found in guidebooks. They were found in conversations with local artisans, family-owned wineries, hidden villages, bustling markets, and meals shared around a table. They were found in the stories passed from one generation to the next and in the simple moments that often become our most treasured memories.

Those experiences inspired the creation of LDV & CO.

LDV & CO. was founded on a simple belief: meaningful experiences have the power to bring people together.

What began as a passion for sharing Italy’s beauty and culture has evolved into a lifestyle brand dedicated to celebrating travel, culture, community, and connection.
